What projects should demonstrate

Build relationships between First Nations and non-First Nation communities.

Support responsible economic-development initiatives.

Improve education, health and the well-being of Elders, vulnerable children, youth and families.

Where possible, involve the people receiving programs and services in their development, management and delivery.

Demonstrate meaningful community involvement in project implementation.

Address community-identified needs through preventative or restorative approaches.

Reflect cultural sensitivity, awareness and community input.

Integrate and coordinate with similar community programs and services.

For health initiatives, emphasize early intervention and prevention.
